Jacob's Shawarma

Located at Sapphire road, Ortigas Pasig City, Philippines (beside Intellicare). As what their description says on facebook: Real Turkish Shawarma (Doner). It's true they're living up with what its description says. Turkish shawarma, known for its spicy/unique taste that spicy seeker tongues would love to munch.

It's wednesday when we went there and their "meat for that day" is Salmon (actually, everyday there is a specific "meat"). I wasn't that confident trying their salmon as part of the shawarma, so my friend, Lani and I ordered the Beef Kebab instead, which cost 175.00 and their apple tea, but sorry we both didn't liked it. Maybe our tongues is not for turkish shawarmas.haha!

The photos!!!

Cute tables

First time I saw an alcohol on the table for dine

that's how long their shawarma is.

Bacolod Chicken Parilla

One reason why my 4 year old plus relationship with my Lovey last this long, its because there's always something new we look forward each time we'll see each other. Since were both food enthusiast I make sure to research restaurants, cafes or food chains that would give justice to our craving taste buds haha!

This time we were both craving for grilled foods or "inihaw". So, I asked Mr. Google where could I possibly find a place near our place that offers delish foods with a homey-elegant-romantic ambiance for dinner. There's a list of grilled restos offering good foods at a reasonable price, but this Bacolod Chicken Parilla got my attention. From  the photos, prices down to the comments of those who've experienced eating here all gave an approval that it's a must try! I hurriedly told my lovey bout this restaurant and asked him if he knows the place where Parilla is at. When he told me he knew the place it's a GO signal that a memorable dinner date will take place the next day.

Bacolod Chicken Parilla is located at the Circle mall or C&B mall Liwasang Kalayaan St., Marikina heights at Marikina CityThe restaurant is a one storey-like house where their barbecue area is located outside. Be worry free on summer day's caused by rising hot temperature, cos it's airconditioned inside.

Valentine's Day

Ever since I was exposed to Valentine's day or February 14, I always wonder what's the purpose of this date and why do people go gaga on spending lots of money over flowers, cards, chocolates, dinner dates, vacation, surprises and the likes. It's such a big deal that I can compare it to birthdays. Growing up with this type of madness on Valentine's day made me wonder how it feels like to be that person experiencing all this commotion during V'days.

Luckily my questions are now answered, and I'm happy to say that I'm spending Valentine's day with a very special person for 5 consecutive years now and I must say this February 14 dates (or close to that date) made me appreciate and reason out why people way back when I was young value this day much. The reason? It's because valentine's day is the day where love or affection (specifically wife-husband,bf-gf, mag-M.U's&crushes) is the right time to be noticed. This the time that people whose not that showy and verbally capable about their emotions to their loved ones or partners can now relay it thru flowers, cards, dinner dates and surprises. This the time that both partners feel how special they are to each other.

Just like them, I also have my own special someone that I should be taken care of and make sure that he feels special and he stands out from the rest. And hopefully he feels that haha!

Just a quick rundown the memory lane, our 2010 Valentine's day celebration was so fast, like we only seen each other for 2 hours (since both of us have our own activities that day. We agreed to meet up over dinner), yet it is still special and memorable. Now comes 2011 and we both agreed to make this year's V'day with a lot of time together compared to the past 4 V'days we spent together.

Feb 13, 2011 is the date were he's available (cos on the 14th he'll go to work), so we need to adjust our timelines for our pre-valentine's day celebration. I must say we did pretty well on celebrating our 1st pre-V'day. We meet up on a much earlier time (1pm) and spent couple of minutes catching up since we didn't see each other for 3-4 days? I think.

After catching up stories bout each other, we headed to the movie world and bought tickets to watch a feel good, scary but comedic movie. The movie took its course and made our day! Laughing and petrified in some scenes made us starved (since we had this small talk that we shouldn't eat large amount of food for us to enjoy our dinner date). The movie ended up in time for dinner so it's pigging out time now!!!

We headed to Classic Savory Chicken. Come on, its dinner time and its V'day so it's expected that large crowd of food eaters everywhere and we didn't expect that (stupidity haha!) So, we ended up moving on the restaurant next to it, which is Chef d' Angelo were I red good reviews on their foods, so there's no way to say NO.

We ordered these foods to complete our V'day date.
 Four Cheese Deluxe Pizza (Php210)
Nachos n' Dips (Php146): good for 3 person
Spaghetti with Meatball(Php150): good for two person
Drinks: Four Seasons (Php40) and Bottled water (Php25)
-----
Mind you guys, we're so full that we asked the waiter to wrapped the pizza for us to take it home instead, since nachos and the spaghetti itself suffice our hunger.

Before going home he gave me my favorite Leche Flan roll from Red Ribbon  http://www.redribbonbakeshop.com.ph/shop/products.asp?product_id=1031 and I was like the happiest girl that time haha! By the way I keep on reminding him that those cheesy presents that guys normally gave their girls are not my type! Not that I'm against it, but I just didn't like the thought of walking around in public place with this huge bouquet of flowers or even teddy bears, but chocolates is still a choice (cadbury or macadamia) haha! But the Leche Flan roll that he gave me was the best choice ever!!!

I'm overjoyed and really love the way we celebrated our 2011 V'day. I'm looking forward in spending this "love" holiday with my one and only love: MARK D. He's the reason why I feel V'day's spirit for 5 years now and hopefully for 60 more years to come.
I'm in love with him and keeps on falling again and again, I know it's a cliché but that's real and coming straight from my <3 (for layman's) and from my hypothalamus (for people in the medical field) LOL!

bentomoto

bentomoto as what its name perceived and sounds like, yes its a Japanese restaurant!!

As what I've researched about bentomoto Restaurant they only have two branches as of the moment. It is located in Marikina City (Riverbanks Mall) and Manila (Ever Gotesco Mall).
-----
This restaurant entails food goers to enjoy their cravings to Japanese cuisine. Plus, the food is also cheap compared to those glamored Japanese Restos. And also, to those first timer it won't torture your taste buds upon tasting these cuisines. But in all honesty, there's this Japanese-made food creation that my taste buds can't  literally take, SUSHI and MAKI. I guess it's the ripe mango part that makes me want to puke after eating a whole.

Anyway, here's the photos of our first bentomoto Restaurant experience ENJOY!!!
Sorry! Didn't have the chance to took a picture of their menu book, the waiter is in a hurry that time, i guess :/
In all fairness the place is well-cleaned.

Year of the metal rabbit

02/03/2011 - 01/22/2012 (Metal)

According to Chinese tradition, the Rabbit brings a year in which you can catch your breath and calm your nerves.  It is a time for negotiation.  Don't try to force issues, because if you do you will ultimately fail.  To gain the greatest benefits from this time, focus on home, family, security, diplomacy, and your relationships with women and children.   Make it a goal to create a safe, peaceful lifestyle, so you will be able to calmly deal with any problem that may arise.

People born in the Year of the Rabbit share certain characteristics:  Keen, wise, fragile, tranquil, serene, considerate, fashionable, and kind.  Generally, they are quite calm, do not exhibit aggressive behavior, and will avoid confrontation at all costs.  When angry about something, they will approach it calmly and considerately, hardly ever raising their voice.  And they are quite keen and pay close attention to the situations developing around them.  They are intelligent and quick, and can talk themselves in or out of most situations with no problem.
The Rabbit is a symbol for mercy, elegance, and worship of beauty.  People born in the Year of the Rabbit are kind, loving persons, and dislike any hostile act.  They give others an impression of being frail-looking because of their gentle appearance.  But, in fact they are strong-minded and have strong wills.  They pursue their ideals all their lives in a precise and orderly way.  They do things slowly and deliberately because of their cautious characters.
There is no need to worry about their lives.  They are nimble, clever and good at avoiding harm to themselves. They are talented and like artistic ventures, such as painting and music and are generally quite present in these worlds.  They are also very hospitable, good hosts and warm-hearted companions.  They never embrace others in public places.  They know the art of saving face and giving consideration to the interests of both sides.
People born in the Year of the Rabbit are apt to be sensitive to ailments and to have bad allergies.  Stress or conflict will detriment their health.  Exercise could take off unnecessary stress and strengthen their physical condition.  They have to learn to incorporate more action into their everyday routines.

They will become depressed and withdrawn if their homes do not consist of beautiful possessions that make them comfortable.  Their homes and offices usually are clutter-free.  They have really good communication skills and are best utilized in positions of management.  They make great teachers and counselors because they are so diplomatic and well-organized.  They can also make great painters or musicians due to their sense of beauty and their love of creativity.

Rabbit people are usually relatively careful when it comes to their finances.  They use much of their money for possessions such as their homes, cars or furniture.  They love hunting for antiques, arts and crafts and will tend to make sound investments in these types of things.

Oh! by the way our family has a new member, meet YANG YANG (came from yinyang). He's the cutest!!!

my mom's birthday (2011)

2011 seems to be a happy year for our family, cos of the blessings that we're receiving. And the most happy of em all are: my mom and dad <3  They are the v.i.p's of the family and they only deserve the BEST.

Anyway, January is the first month of the year where the first celebrant of the family is celebrated. (Too many celeb prefixes haha!) By the way, it's my mom's --'th birthday and I can tell she's so happy with the way she acts and conversed with us on that day, she's so "lambing".

But before the celebration proper, mame (my mom,as what we used to call her) and daddy accompany me to my medical examination in the morning at Ortigas. But my mame told my dad for a stop over on a church we passed by which is the Christ the King Church in Greenmeadows. I accompanied my mame in the Blessed Sacrament to pray and give thanks to our Lord. And took some pictures cos the place is utterly beautiful and peaceful.
 with the birthday girl
My appointment to the clinic is for urinalysis only (for employment purpose) so it was quick and brief. After my errand it was still early and we decided to go to Shopwise for some grocery. It's funny that after doing the grocery, they're the ones whose discussing where to eat lunch and didn't mind asking me (coz they know i'll choose to eat somewhere that they didn't like the cuisines haha!!!) Anyway, after a few minutes of discussion they both agree to eat at Dampa sa Riverbanks. From Shopwise Libis to Dampa, it only took 5-10 minutes until we arrived there (cos bumper to bumper traffic ain't present on that day. Hallelujah!)

I ordered myself 1 stick of chicken barbecue, while my mom and dad ordered an ensalada, 2 "inihaw na pusit" and a bowl of sinigang sa miso and 3 rice. We waited for approximately 20 minutes and when the foods arrived we munch on to it until all those foods are eaten.
 Daddy and Mame
sinigang sa miso (i love the vegetables!!!)
inihaw na pusit, ensalada and chicken barbecue
 the sweetest couple ever!!!
------
Before going home we received a text message from my brother asking if we could buy a molo wrapper for the siomai. So after eating mom and I went to the grocery inside the mall and my dad went to the car to wait for us there. But because my mom's so friendly she saw friends there who owns a boutique in the gallery section and chit chat with them and took some pictures. (My mom is also a cam whore-ish :p)

It was past 12 noon when we got back to our house and our resident couple chefs along with my grandmother took lots of effort to cook these foods:
 spiral spaghetti
 palitaw
 pancit
bilo-bilo ingredients
